This MCLE program introduces litigators to the realm of computer forensics and how it relates to electronic discovery. The world is now tied to a large digital network of information and technology. What once was written on paper or typed is now captured electronically and stored in documents, letters, and E-mails. In most instances, long after documents may be thought to have been deleted or destroyed, digital information can be recovered. In many cases, the outcome of litigation will revolve around the discovery of digital evidence and the expert witnesses who testify and present the findings. Albert Barsocchini Albert Barsocchini is an internationally recognized expert in e-Discovery (patent litigation), international and national privacy and protection, compliance, audit and corporate investigations. He writes and lectures frequently on these topics. Brent Botta Brent Botta is a Senior Computer Forensic Investigator for Guidance Software. Upon achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1997, Brent was immediately hired by the Georgia Secretary of State's office as a Special Agent for a Major Fraud and Telemarketing White Collar Crime Unit as a computer forensic investigator. In 1999, Brent was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's CART Team as a full time computer forensic examiner in which he was the forensic lead on more than 100 state and federal search warrants.
